Once again Patt and I hopped in the car and headed for Columbus Ohio for the summer TNNA show. I had a new book coming out and did a signing at the Skacel Booth. We always have so much fun there that we go every year even if it isn't absolutely necessary. We met some really nice people. We always do but for some reason they seemed extra nice this year.
I love seeing all the new products that are coming out. It always reinvigorates my creativity.
MY STUFF
My new book is called Purl the Little Knit Girl.
The book includes 25 patterns.
There is a doll pattern, a hat, jumper and house for each of the dolls along with a matching child size hat pattern. I love my new little dolls! Thanks to Karin and Skacel for dyeing flesh colored yarn for me. It's so hard to find a good flesh color! If any of you doll makers are looking, the yarn is Simplicity and the color is called Karin's Birthday Suit.
OH YEAH! BONUS! There are Purl paper dolls included in the book.
GOOD STUFF
Co Ba Si Sock Yarn by Hikoo
distributed by Skacel
This will be my go to sock yarn from now on.
Co Ba Si by Hikoo. 55% cotton/16% bamboo/8% silk/21% elastic nylon.
I love to be able to knit cotton socks but still have some stretch.
Cobasi is along the lines of Fixation but in an actual sock weight.
It comes in a wide array of colors and they are working on finding a dyer to add self striping to the line.

| Kim Cole, inventor of the Gleener® (you go girl!) |
Finally! A sweater depiller that actually works!
I was so tired of going over and over my sweaters with
that worthless ball shaver and then end up just picking the pills off with my fingers (Aargh!)
Not only is this an awesome invention (it won the Next Big Zing award at TNNA), but Kim was just one of the sweetest people. She made me cry when she told me about her struggle to bring the Gleener® to fruition. She deserves all the success that comes her way!
Kim was nice enough to give me a sample Gleener® and I pulled
it out as soon as I got home to try it out.
This is a sweater I knit out of Malabrigo, which I love because it's so soft.
If you've knit with Malabrigo you know it pills terribly,
but a few swipes with the Gleener®
and it looked better than the day I finished knitting it!

| Me, Patt and Yura Yang (President of Furaz) |
Guilt free fur yarn. Okay, I still feel a little bit guilty,
after all bunnies are so cute.
But this yarn is 100% byproduct and it's so yummy!
Yura was an absolute delight! We stopped by her booth many times just to chat. I thought about trying to leave with this scarf on, but I noticed Yura's cousin looking like he was getting ready to tackle me
so I decided not to try it.
This yarn inspired me more than anything else at the show
and I already have several patterns in the works.
Deodorant, strengthening thread
I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but it's going in my next sock. Apparently, the clothing industry is adding this thread to the underarms of garments. It doesn't stop you from sweating, it just kills the odor and it's super strong. The Vendor did a demo for us using amonia and it was impressive.
YUMMY STUFF
Across the street from the convention center is a fabulous market (North Market)! We walk over there a couple times a day for coffee and ice cream. My favorite is the coffee, but of course Patt's favorite is the ice cream. She usually walks around the whole time we're there with a pocket full of those little white sample spoons.

FUN STUFF

Made a little side trip to the Sow's Ear yarn and coffee shop.
It was very cute. |

When I went to bed, Patt was lying here and when I woke up she had turned into yarnPatt.
I think it's some kind of knitting voodoo. Creepy! |
